Being active, mobile and independent are really important to me. I have a very hectic schedule and I don’t have much patience for waiting around…it really upsets me that automatic door openers and vehicle lifts move so slow. When I’m on the move, I don’t want anything to get in the way.
Because of my position as the national Spokesman for Quantum Rehab and having rehabbed at Walter Reed, I have been really lucky to have numerous choices for my mobility. I use C-Legs prosthetic legs, a Litestream manual wheelchair and a Q6000Z power chair.
Each of these choices allow me to be active and independent.
My legs are second generation C-Legs and I use them when I go out to clubs and for most social settings. I like to be standing and walking when I meet new people and have casual conversations.
I use my Litestream manual wheelchair when I travel and am going around town with friends. It’s light weight and durable and is easy to fold and throw in the back of my Jeep. It’s really good for travel and that’s something I do a lot.
My Q6000Z power chair is great when I need to cover lots of ground. Its performance is outstanding and it goes where I want to go, fast. It also has a very cool look, and that’s important to me. Who wants something that looks like it belongs in a hospital?
